Carex buchananii ‘Red Rooster’ forms an upright to arching mound of fine evergreen leaves in warm orange, copper and reddish-bronze tones, with small brown flower spikes appearing in summer. Around 50–70cm high, it gives useful movement and colour among gravel, perennials or containers, particularly where its foliage can catch low winter light.
