Actinidia deliciosa ‘Boskoop’ Description

Actinidia deliciosa ‘Boskoop’ is a fast-growing deciduous climber that can be trained over a pergola, along wires or against a sunny wall. Broad, softly hairy leaves create dense summer coverage, while creamy-white flowers may be followed by medium-sized fuzzy kiwi fruit that ripen in autumn. It is commonly grown as a self-fertile cultivar, although another compatible kiwi nearby may improve the size and reliability of the crop. Plant in full sun in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil, sheltered from cold winds and late spring frost. Provide a very strong permanent framework and prune established vines in both winter and summer to control their vigorous growth and encourage fruiting wood.
