Acer palmatum ‘Bloodgood’ is a large, bushy shrub growing 2.5–4m tall and wide, renowned as one of the best purple-leaved maples. Its foliage is deep red-purple, turning brilliant red in autumn, and is complemented by small purple spring flowers and red fruits. Recognised with the RHS Award of Garden Merit, it is reliable and low maintenance. A striking choice for Irish gardens, it provides long-lasting seasonal interest.
