Hydrangea paniculata ‘Magical Moonlight’ Description

Hydrangea paniculata ‘Magical Moonlight’ is a vigorous deciduous shrub selected for its exceptionally large, densely packed flower heads. Broad conical panicles emerge pale lime green before becoming creamy white, often retaining attractive green tones as they age. Mature plants can reach around 1.8 to 2 metres high and wide, so allow adequate space within a substantial mixed border or flowering hedge. Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile soil that remains reliably moist but drains freely. It is fully hardy and well suited to Irish conditions. Flowers are produced on new season’s shoots, allowing pruning in late winter or early spring. Avoid excessively hard pruning every year if a taller shrub with numerous well-supported flower panicles is preferred.
