Dianella tasmanica ‘Little Rev’ Description

Dianella tasmanica ‘Little Rev’, more accurately classified as Dianella revoluta Little Rev, forms a neat evergreen clump of narrow, stiff blue-grey leaves. Small starry blue flowers may appear on branching stems during summer and can be followed by decorative blue or purple berries. Growing to around 40cm high and wide, it provides year-round structure in modern borders, gravel planting and containers. Grow in full sun or partial shade in fertile, freely draining soil. Once established it tolerates heat, coastal air and short dry periods, but cold saturated ground can damage the crown. In colder or exposed parts of Ireland, container growing allows the plant to be moved into a sheltered, frost-protected position during severe winter weather.
