Dahlia ‘XXL Raspberry Ice’ Description

Dahlia ‘XXL Raspberry Ice’ forms a low, bushy plant with toothed green foliage and large, densely petalled flowers in deep raspberry, strawberry-red or rich crimson shades. The impressive blooms are carried on short, strong stems from midsummer until the first autumn frost. Growing to around 40cm, it is particularly suitable for patio pots, courtyard displays and the front of sunny borders. Plant in full sun in fertile, moisture-retentive but freely draining soil or compost. Water and feed regularly and remove fading flowers to encourage new buds. The large blooms may mark during persistent rain, so some shelter is beneficial. It is frost tender and must be lifted or moved under protection for winter in Ireland.
