Bidens ‘Bidy Boom Fireside’ develops into a dense, mounding plant with finely divided green foliage and numerous single daisy-like flowers. Each bloom combines warm orange outer petals with a bright golden-yellow centre, creating a lively two-tone display from late spring into autumn. Growing to around 30 to 35cm high and spreading up to approximately 45cm, it fills patio pots, baskets and gaps near the front of sunny borders effectively. Plant in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil or compost. Water regularly and feed container-grown plants throughout summer, although established plants tolerate brief dry periods. It attracts bees and butterflies but is frost tender, so it should be regarded as a summer annual in Irish gardens.
