Begonia ‘Upright Fire’ Description

Begonia ‘Upright Fire’ forms a compact, upright plant with fleshy green foliage and vivid flowers in fiery red to orange shades. Unlike trailing basket types, its growth remains more vertical, making it useful as a central feature in patio pots, window boxes and sheltered bedding schemes. Flowering can continue throughout summer when plants receive steady moisture and regular feeding. Grow in partial shade in fertile, moist but well-drained compost, sheltered from strong wind and scorching afternoon sun. Remove damaged flowers and yellowing leaves to keep the plant fresh. It is not frost hardy in Ireland, so plant outdoors only after late frosts and bring it under cover before temperatures fall sharply in autumn.
