Azalea japonica ‘Aladin Scout’ Description

Azalea japonica ‘Aladin Scout’ forms a dense, rounded evergreen shrub with small glossy green leaves that may take on reddish tints during winter. Warm orange-red to deep red flowers appear in April and May, often covering much of the foliage at the height of the display. Slowly reaching around 1 metre or slightly more in height and spread, it is suitable for courtyard gardens, ericaceous borders and large patio containers. Grow in sun or partial shade in moist but well-drained acidic soil, using ericaceous compost in pots. Shelter it from cold drying winds and do not allow the shallow root system to dry out during spring or summer.
