Albizia julibrissin ‘Evey’s Pride’ Description

Albizia julibrissin ‘Evey’s Pride’ is a deciduous silk tree with delicate, fern-like foliage and an elegant spreading crown. The leaves emerge bronze-green in spring before developing rich dark purple colouring, while fluffy, fragrant flower heads in creamy pink to purple shades open during warm summer weather. It eventually forms a large shrub or small tree approximately 4 to 8 metres high and wide, though growth may remain smaller in a container. Plant it in full sun in fertile, freely draining soil beside a warm wall or in another sheltered position. Once established it tolerates dry periods, but young plants need protection from severe frost and cold winds. Avoid unnecessary pruning, as its natural umbrella-shaped framework is one of its main features.
