Acer rubrum ‘Summer Red’ is a broad, pyramidal tree growing to around 15m tall. The deeply lobed leaves open red in spring, mature green, and turn yellow, orange, and red in autumn, with reddish summer growth adding extra interest. Upright clusters of tiny red flowers appear in spring, followed by dark red fruits. With its extended season of colour, it is an attractive addition to Irish gardens.
