Acer palmatum ‘Aureum’, the golden Japanese maple, is a medium-sized deciduous shrub or small tree reaching around 4m tall and wide. Flowering in April and May, it bears clusters of reddish-purple blooms, with foliage shifting from bright yellow in spring to yellow-green in summer, and orange, red, and yellow tones in autumn. Bushy in habit and low maintenance, it offers reliable seasonal colour for Irish gardens.
